Let’s Play
Little Wild Cards is a scavenger hunt game. Each card has a characteristic prompt to encourage children to look for something with that characteristic. But here at LWC we are all about open ended play, longevity and versatility. We are constantly discovering new ways to use our cards and we hope you will too!
Here are some ideas to get you started:
🟡 Play with a single card | Let's find something 'Yellow'
🔵 Play with multiple cards | Let’s find something ‘Blue’ that has ‘Spots’
🏃 Make it a race | Who can find 3 'Twirly' things first?
📚 Create a collection of items; but remember to leave nature as you found it.
📷 Take photos of lots of items with a characteristic. | An album of all of the ‘Pink’ things you found on a bush-walk.
You don't even have to be outside! Here are some 'rainy day' ideas:
🐅 Encourage discussion & fun research projects. | What do we know about Tigers?
👩🎨 Use combinations of cards to inspire drawings of fantastical creatures or landscapes.
📺 Keep a record of the multi-card finds you see on tv or in books.
🧚♀️ Pull one card at a time from the pack to create wild collaborative group stories from your imagination.
